Taste More Waste Less

Booklet-Intervention

The Challenge
Food waste remains a persistent issue within everyday households, often driven by convenience, overconsumption and a lack of practical knowledge. The challenge of Taste More, Waste Less was to develop an accessible and engaging guide that encourages more sustainable food habits without compromising pleasure, taste or simplicity. The project sought to bridge the gap between awareness and action.

The Concept
The guide was developed through a period of field research and personal experimentation. Local bakeries such as Wek were visited, connections were made with community farms and eco stores, and insights were gathered from these networks. This research was followed by two months of applying and testing the findings within daily life, translating theory into lived practice.

The outcome of this process became a vegetarian friendly booklet structured around two levels of engagement. The first level offers clear and approachable steps for individuals beginning to reduce food waste. The second level introduces more advanced strategies for those ready to deepen their commitment. The design balances clarity with warmth, ensuring the guide feels practical rather than prescriptive.

The Outcome
Taste More, Waste Less functions as both a design object and a behavioural tool. It reframes sustainable living as an incremental and rewarding process rather than an all or nothing ideal. By combining research, storytelling and structured guidance, the project empowers readers to adopt greener habits with confidence, celebrating progress through everyday actions.
